Yamashita Tomohisa and Nishikido Ryo, members of the popular
idolgroup NEWS announced today through their agency Johnny's that they
are withdrawing from the group.
Yamashita will continue with
his solo projects, Nishikido will continue as a member of Kanjani8.
Koyama Keiichirou, Katou Shigeaki, Tegoshi Yuya and Masuda Takahisa will
continue as NEWS, now a 4-member group.

"I
had a great experience working with two groups. Thank you very much to
those of you who supported NewS' Nishikido Ryo. I came to this decision
because there were scheduling issues that I couldn't solve, no matter
how hard I tried. I felt sorry that it was becoming more and more
difficult to try and adjust the CD releases and tour schedules for the
two groups

ที่ 7 ตุลาคม 2 ในสมาชิกวงนิวส์ (NEWS) ที่ได้รับความสูงสุดในวง คือ ยามะพี
- ยามาชิตะ โทโมฮิสะ(YamaP - Yamashita Tomohisa) วัย 26 ปี และ นิชิคิโด
เรียว (Nishikido Ryo) วัย 26 ปี ประกาศถอนตัวอย่างเป็นทางการจากวงนิวส์
(NEWS)
โดย ยามาชิตะ จะแยกออกไปทำโซโล่เดี่ยว และ นิชิคิโด เรียว
จะย้ายไปทำงานกับคันจานิ 8 (Kanjani 8) อย่างถาวร ส่วนทางด้านวงนิวส์
ก็ยังเหลือสมาชิกอีก 4 คน คือ โคยาม่า เคอิจิโร่ วัย 27 ปี, ชิเงะอากิ
คาโต้ วัย 24 ปี, มัตสึดะ ทากาฮิสะ วัย 25 ปี และ เทโกชิ ยูยะ วัย 23 ปี
จะยังคงดำรงสถานะสมาชิกของวงอยู่
ทางด้าน ยามาชิตะ ให้สัมภาษณ์ว่า
"ต่อจากนี้ไปก็อยากจะลองทำงานเดี่ยวบางครับ และจากความรู้สึกนี้เอง
อาจจะทำให้ความเป็นวงต้องลำบาก จึงคิดว่าทำไปที่ละอย่างดีกว่าครับ"
ส่วน โคยาม่า ให้สัมภาษณ์ว่า "ถึงจะมีสมาชิกเพียง 4 คนที่เหลืออยู่ แต่ระยะเวลาที่เราผ่านมาถึง 8 ปี พวกเราก็จะทำมันต่อไปให้ดีครับ"
ส่วนเหตุที่ นิชิคิโด เรียว ถอนตัวออกจากวงนั้น
เป็นเพราะไม่สามารถแยกเวลาให้เหมาะสมกับทั้ง 2 วงที่เป็นสมาชิกอยู่ คือ
ทั้งนิวส์ และ คันจานิ 8 นั่นเอง
"โคยาม่า, ชิเงะ, มิตสึดะ และ เทโงชิ กับ นิวส์ในรูปแบบใหม่ ช่วยสนับสนุนพวกเขาต่อไปด้วยนะครับ"
